Gloves

This photo, taken in our garden, was my first time in gloves for the season. I am wearing my old faithful Uniqlo down jacket. It is so light and fits into a small bag that is attached to the lining. It is very easy to take on trips because it folds up so small and is so light.

This is what it looked like an hour later

I am very bad at wearing gloves. I had never worn gloves until I came to Sweden and I have found it very difficult finding the style I like and can use. When I first arrived, I had no idea gloves had actual sizes! I also had no clue that they were so easy to lose.

I have tried many different kinds. Knitted (not warm enough, get wet and sodden), mittens (warm but are hard to use), leather (need to be tight), fingerless with a mitten cover (these were the best). My biggest mistake was buying gloves that were too big.

At the moment I have Thinsulate-lined soft leather gloves. They are thin and tight enough that I can take my travel card out of my pocket, and they have a touchpad on the index fingers so I can answer my phone. I still don’t wear gloves until it is so cold that my hands hurt. I normally just put my hands in the pockets of my down coat.
