I watched the Queen’s Gambit the day before The Crown came out. My husband was away for work, it was pouring with rain and I had a cold, so I was looking for something to watch. It was number 1 on Netflix Sweden so I flipped to it, expecting to be bored out of my skull. I last played chess with my father when I was about 12 and have never been interested in it.
By episode 2 I was hooked, and I binged all seven episodes the same day. A few days later I went back and watched the entire series again, this time looking in more detail at the set design, make-up and outfits, which were all absolutely epic.
If you have not watched it yet, I highly recommend this series. You do not have to know anything about chess to watch it.
